The IEEC supports students and young researchers to develop their professional careers, whether in academia or industry. In this sense, the IEEC provides opportunities for students interested in space sciences and space technology, from secondary school to university level (bachelor, master, and PhD), and participates in specialised courses and workshops.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

There are educational programmes that allow secondary school students to spend a few weeks working with an expert researcher within a specific field of study, experiencing in situ the tasks, achievements, and difficulties that a researcher encounters on a daily basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ‘Young Researchers’ competition aims to awaken vocations among secondary school students and members of various associations. This programme aims to improve scientific literacy as well as to foster a critical and rational approach in young students, allowing them to have a direct experience in the process of knowledge generation by spending two weeks in a research institute or a company.<\/span><\/p>\n

External internships<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Undergraduate students can carry out an external internship course with companies, services or institutes. The main objective of these internships is to introduce them to the workplace, offering them a possible future insertion in the labour market.<\/span><\/p>\n

The IEEC has agreements with most of the universities in Catalonia.<\/span><\/p>\n

JAE-INTRO (CSIC)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The JAE-INTRO programme is aimed at second, third and\/or fourth year undergraduate students. The aim of the programme is to offer students with an excellent academic record the possibility of practical experience in industry or a research institute, working in a professional environment for a short period of time. The call for applications is usually opened at the end of the previous year, at which time students can choose the centre they are interested in applying to according to their area of interest. The duration of the internship is two months and the student can coordinate with the researcher to carry out the internship during the summer (June, July, August or September).<\/span><\/p>\n
